Anthony Edwards Under 27.5 points (-122)

While Edwards (injury maintenance) is questionable, if he plays, it’s unlikely that he will score 28+ points. He scored 26 or fewer points in two of his three meetings with the Nuggets in the regular season - and he was healthier back then.

Additionally, the Nuggets’ defense was a lot better in last season’s playoffs than in the regular season, so there’s a strong chance we will see Denver tighten up on defense moving forward. Edwards Under 27.5 points is -122 at DraftKings, but I would be comfortable playing this up to -145 on the best sports betting sites.

Nikola Jokic Over 42.5 points + rebounds (-110)

Jokic’s stat lines against the Timberwolves this season have been outrageous, and I don’t expect that to stop on Saturday.

He totaled 44 or more points + rebounds in three of his four regular-season games against the Timberwolves, including a 56-point, 16-rebound performance - that’s 72 P/R for our purposes - in Denver on Christmas Day.

Jokic Over 42.5 points + rebounds is -110 at BetMGM, but I would play this up to -125 on the best sports betting apps. Meanwhile, our C Jackson Cowart offers a best bet at +260 odds for this series in his Timberwolves vs. Nuggets series odds.

While the regular season offers insight into how teams will perform in the playoffs, it doesn’t paint the entire picture.

Veteran teams - especially those who have won a championship, like the Nuggets - have been known to preserve energy in the regular season and perform at another level in the playoffs.

This is likely what we’ll see from Denver moving forward, so I’m leaning toward playing Unders on Timberwolves players and Overs here and there on Nuggets players.
