Two of the league's best meet at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y., at 7 p.m. ET tonight (TNT), and I'm expecting a high-scoring Dallas win in my Stars vs. Sabres prediction.

With both teams surging - yes, even Buffalo - it’s the Sabres who enter the season finale as slight betting favorites. And as has been the case all season, I’m turning to Jason Robertson for my featured player prop.

πŸ† Who will win Stars vs. Sabres?

I'm backing the Stars to win their fifth straight while ending the Sabres' four-game winning run. Dallas lost 4-1 at home to Buffalo earlier in the season, and it's time for the Stars to repay the favor.

While the Sabres are a wagon at home (third-best points percentage), the Stars are as good on the road, with the third-best record.

It will be a relaxed evening as both of the Stanley Cup odds contenders wrap up the regular season, and the Stars will want to improve on their second-best season.

Score prediction: Stars 4, Sabres 3 (+3500)

πŸ’° Stars vs. Sabres prediction & best bet

Over 6.5 goals (+110)

With two of the best offensive teams in the league squaring off with nothing to play for, I expect goals. Both teams enter on four-game winning streaks, with the Sabres scoring 19 and the Stars netting 17.

There's a pretty good chance one team will rest their starting netminder, though it hasn't been confirmed. Jake Oettinger didn't start in Toronto on Saturday, so he should get the nod in Buffalo.

It could go either way for Buffalo regarding Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Even if both starters play, we should be in for a doozy.

πŸ”₯ Best Stars vs. Sabres player prop bet

Jason Robertson anytime goal (+145)

Robertson enters having scored five goals in the last four games, and netted twice in the previous four meetings against the Sabres. He was unlucky not to score in the first meeting in Dallas, firing eight shots on goal.

He's tied with Wyatt Johnston for the team lead, with 45 goals, and I'm sure it would be nice to have bragging rights as the leading scorer.

In addition, Robertson is one goal shy of tying his career-best mark of 46, which he set in 2022-23. That sounds like a perfect goals-coring scenario to me.

💡 NHL player props today

As part of my NHL player props today, I'm featuring two more goal-scorer props, both of which focus on Western Conference players.

πŸš€ Stars vs. Sabres same-game parlay

As I'm expecting a bunch of goals, backing the team's most prolific scorer, who is on a hot streak, makes sense for my projected game script. Let's also get a Stars win to complete a 3-leg SGP, which carries a 10.45% likelihood.

πŸ’‘ How I'm betting Stars vs. Sabres

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

As mentioned, these games are particularly challenging to handicap. However, both teams are playing excellent hockey and are among the Cup contenders, so I don't expect a dropoff from either.

I'm more confident in Robertson scoring, as he has a lot to play for, including potentially tying or breaking his career best. That's worth a full unit investment ($10).
